| The Wayne Municipal Airport, managed by Reliance Aviation, is located one mile east of Wayne. The airport has two paved and lighted runways (4,200 feet and 3,407 feet) and a 2,701-foot turf runway. Other facilities include ground-to-air radio communication, hangars, tie-downs, air taxi, nondirectional radio beacon, flight training, and maintenance. Charter service is 1,431 feet. Sioux Gateway Airport at Sioux City, Iowa, 30 miles northeast of Wayne, is served by Northwest/Airlink and Chautaugua Airlines. |

| Barge service is available at 19 barge terminal facilities on the Missouri River in Nebraska. The Sioux City river port is 30 miles northeast of Allen. These river ports are navigable approximately eight months per year. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers maintains a 9-foot deep, 300-foot wide channel for 735 navigable miles from Sioux City to the mouth of the Missouri River. Commodities transported by towing companies are alfala pellets, cement, concrete forms, distillers' dried grain, feed, feed ingredients, fertilizer, grain, machinery, molasses, newsprint, nitorgen fertilizer solution, propylene glycol, rock-aggregate, salt, steel, and twine. |
